Objection · Case 03 · Reliability of Scripture

The Ezekiel fragments are tiny, and the big text-critical issues in Ezekiel involve the Septuagint being shorter, which the fragments can’t resolve.

Response

Correct on both points; the honest summary is fragmentary and consistent where checkable, not broad confirmation. The Masada Ezekiel scroll, found outside Qumran, is a better witness and aligns closely with the Masoretic tradition. The Septuagint’s shorter Ezekiel remains a live question that the Judean desert finds do not settle.
