Claim 1 of 5 · Case 15 · Hinduism
The New Testament records Jesus making exclusive claims about his own identity and authority, which is why placing him as one avatar among many does not fit the texts.
One claim from the free evidence repository at apologetics.pro.
This is a claim about what the sources say, and it is easy to check by reading them. In the Gospels Jesus does not present himself as one path among many. He claims a unique identity and the authority to forgive sin and to judge. So reducing him to one avatar in a wider system is not accepting him, it is redrawing him. Whether those claims are true is a separate question, argued in the Historical Jesus and Resurrection of Christ cases. Here the point is only what the texts actually record.
The full case is made in The Trinity, claim 3 (Jesus receives the worship that Scripture reserves for God); this claim keeps only what is specific to this audience.

The Gospel of John, chapter 14, verse 6
This is the plainest textual evidence that Jesus claimed a unique role. It’s the exact passage to read aloud when someone says Jesus was simply one more teacher or avatar, and it keeps the point textual rather than assuming the conclusion.
