Many of the founders of modern science were devout Christians who expected an orderly universe because they believed a rational God made it.
One claim from the free evidence repository at apologetics.pro.
A common assumption is that science advanced by escaping religion. In fact a great many of the people who built the sciences were serious believers, and several said their faith drove the work. There is a stronger and more debated version of this, that Christianity was the necessary cause of modern science. Historians argue about that larger thesis, so we are not asserting it. What is not seriously disputed is the simpler fact stated here, that the founders were largely believers who saw nature as the ordered work of a rational Creator.

The roster of believing scientists
A long list of first rank scientists who were also devout believers is direct counter evidence to the idea that real science requires leaving faith behind. These are not obscure figures. They founded entire fields.C.S. Lewis on why early scientists expected order
This explains the connection the claim is drawing. It was not an accident that science took root in a culture that expected the universe to be lawful and understandable. That expectation grew out of belief in a rational Creator.
