Claim 8 of 8 · Case 05 · Relativism

Calling Christianity “too exclusive” does not show it false, because truth by its nature excludes error and every worldview, including religious pluralism, draws boundaries.

This is a second standalone logical argument, aimed at the objection that an exclusive claim is arrogant. The problem is that every truth claim excludes its opposite. Saying two plus two is four excludes every other answer, not out of pride but because that is what a true statement does. So the real question is never “is this claim narrow,” it is “is this claim true.” And notice that even “all religions are equally valid” excludes the view that some are simply wrong, so pluralism is exclusive too. It just applies its boundary somewhere else.

No one escapes exclusivity: even the tolerant-sounding position stakes out ground that rules other views out. That shifts the conversation from tone (whether a view feels narrow) to substance: whether it is true.
