Claim 5 of 5 · Case 01 · Historical Jesus
Hostile Jewish tradition preserves a memory of Jesus’s execution.

Later Jewish writings that were not friendly to Christianity still contain a memory that a figure they call Yeshu was put to death. This is supporting evidence, with clear limits, not a main proof.

The Babylonian Talmud (Sanhedrin 43a)
Two honest limits: this text was written down centuries later, and scholars debate whether every “Yeshu” passage refers to Jesus of Nazareth. Even so, a hostile source recalling an execution around Passover fits the Christian account and adds an unfriendly witness, useful as backup, not as the main case.
